2026 McDonogh Duals Tournament Preview

This weekend’s Tyrant McDonogh Duals are shaping up to be an action-packed weekend of fierce competition at the Henrico Sports & Events Center.

Get ready for a weekend full of elite matchups and nonstop action— this is Tyrant wrestling.

Shout out to the ES-6 division and the elite programs bringing serious firepower to the mat this weekend. Cap City, Diamond State Inferno, Project X Red, and Team PA/USA continue to bring high-level talent and toughness to the mat. Each of these programs are led by standout wrestlers with proven resumes, including Ryan Bassin of Cap City, a Super 32 placer, Milo Ksebe of Diamond State Inferno, a 3-time state champion, Myles Maines of Project X Red, a 5-time Tennessee USA state champion, and Kaden Dorsey of Team PA/USA, a West Virginia state champion. Elite competitors, strong programs, and a commitment to excellence-this is what Tyrant wrestling is all about.

The division of ES-6 is loaded at the top, with several powerhouse programs bringing proven competitors to the lineup. POWA is anchored by Gabriel Jasso, an explosive 84-pound standout out of Colorado bringing speed, pressure, and big-match experience. Team PA/USA is led by Virginia Triple Crown champion Max Garcia, who consistently performs in tough environments. Mat Assassins Black features Daniel Corbin, a gritty 100-pound standout out of Pennsylvania known for his ability to control matches. Ohio Gold fills out the roster with Knox Stamp, a five-time West Virginia state champion and three-time Powerade runner-up, and the résumé on that kid is quite impressive. The son of legend Ryan Hall a 4x Va VISAA state champion coach for Benedictine, wrestling for Crossroads, OJ Hall is another powerhouse from Georgia, a GA freestyle state champ, GA Greco state champ, GA AAU south state champ, and GIAA MS state champ, also has a mean mullet. With this level of experience and firepower, the ES-6division is set for an outstanding weekend of competition.

This year's McDonogh Duals feature what might be the deepest and most competitive Middle School division the event has seen, with a full roster of proven programs and standout wrestlers hailing from up and down the region. Team Schutt boasts Cam Smith, a physical 80-pound competitor out of Pennsylvania who wears down opponents with constant pressure and poise. Mat Assassins Black's own anchor is JJ Sullivan, an 88-pound Pennsylvania standout with an unrivaled relentlessness and ability to truly control the mat. POWA boasts the strong, technical wrestling of Colorado's Jaxon Holtz at 105 pounds. Consistently up for any challenge, Holtz makes big claims about what this POWA squad can do. Team PA/USA adds a ton of depth with Ben Corvin, a Pennsylvania state champion whose experience and leadership set the tone for his lineup. With that type of talent on show, the Middle School division is primed for an exceptional weekend of high-level competition.
